Water fun in the Bavarian Forest

The wellness hotel Waldeck in Bodenmais invites you to an active enjoyment vacation. On particularly hot days, the outdoor pool in Bodenmais, the natural swimming pond in Drachselsried and the Osserbad in nearby Lam provide refreshment and cooling. A hike or bike ride around the small Arbersee with subsequent refreshment in the lakeside café is also nice here.

High ropes course, treetop adventure and amusement park

The climatic health resort Bodenmais is located near the Bavarian Forest National Park, the oldest national park in Germany. In addition to hiking and biking trails, you’ll find plenty of sights for the whole family – such as the high ropes course in Lam or the world’s longest treetop trail at 1,300 meters with the famous Baumwipfelei in the Lusen National Park Center.

A vacation highlight for children are trips to the nearby amusement parks – the Churpfalzpark in Loifing (approx. 50 minutes from the Wellnesshotel Waldeck) and the Bayern-Park in Reisbach (approx. 70 minutes) – or to the „Freizeitspaßmachern” in St. Englmar (approx. 40 minutes; with Waldwipfelweg, summer toboggan run, bull carts and much more). Shopping trips and cultural excursions – from the Czech Republic to Passau

Vacation, shopping and culture, combine the pleasant with the useful: It’s just 25 km to the Czech border (Bayer Eisenstein) – short enough for a quick shopping trip. There are also regular bus excursions from Bodenmais, which you can book through our hotel, e.g. to the three-river city of Passau or to Regensburg, whose old town has been declared a UNESCO Work Heritage Site.
